an update? IMPOSSIBLE!!

A much needed update! I'm through my 3rd year at Sheridan, and I've relocated to Charlottetown, PEI for a few months for an internship with Trapeze Animation! Looking forward to a summer full of working, life sketching and planning my own film for next year. Now onto the work, which is mostly what I've been up to the past few months, but I wanna start with older stuff.

Fishy John is grumpy because he lost both of his legs trying to nab a shark for dinner. Cheer up Fishy John!

Turnaround for my Little Prometheus project

mock production still for fun

Aaaand now some stuff I did for an animated short I worked with several other people at Sheridan this year, (tentatively?) called Just Desserts. I focused on the color and background development of the film. Layouts on paper, digitally painted in photoshop.

I had far too much fun doing this one

video

Another school term has gone by! I've been mostly busy with the group film, but here is a nearly complete scene from my half minute action analysis storyreel. I need to re-do the reel, so that will be up soon. It's really nice to finally compose an entire animated scene, rather than just pencil tests. I'll be working on my coop portfolio for most of this month, so expect to see more work coming up soon!

don quixote

School's started, and I've been busy with work for a few large scale projects, thus the bloggy absence. Here's an illustration I did for my literature class, about my interpretation of an event that occurs in the classic novel Don Quixote.

city of books

It was my girlfriend's birthday a couple of days ago, and to celebrate it I'd thought I illustrate her favorite method of procrastination. Check it out! While you're at it, I suggest you point your clicker here and take a gander at her blog.

More work is soon to come

I return!

So... uh, haven't updated in many months... school kinda took over my life. Fear not! Only a little bit left to go. As a reward for your patience, here's a sample of the new work I'll be putting up in the next few weeks. This is a painted layout for scene that actually got scrapped for my leica reel project for 2nd term Story class, thanks goes out to Michael Hitchcox for a lot of help tying this piece together. Photoshop on graphite drawing.

Disappearing for a bit

We're getting right into final projects for the term, so I probably won't make
another post until mid-december. However at that point I should have new work to show!

Here's some stuff to entertain in the meantime:

Turnarounds and pose sheets for a couple characters I designed for an animation assignment I'm currently working up.

Might as well throw in a painting I did earlier on in the term as well. Gouache on watercolour paper, with photoshop adjustments. Credit to the layout artist, don't know the name however.
